Is a career in SAP BODS safe?

It depends actually. First, there are few things that you need to consider like what you actually want from the tool itself i.e. how you want to use it and your future choices. I am working with this tool for the last 1.5 years. It has many advantages compared to other tools namely SSIS, Informatica etc. & it is quite easy to understand & to work on.

Now coming to your question I'd like to say that the requirements for SAP BODS at least in Indian market is quite less (6 to 7 major companies). So if your focus is on to switch later then you should have adequate amount of experience in your kitty.

But as I mentioned earlier that it is easy to use and learn and of course somewhat advance from the rest of the ETL tools, learning BODS would come to you as a major advantage.
