Which is the best course, Oracle DBA or MySQL DBA?

MySQL database system is the best option when you’re designing a small, web-based solution with a small volume of data.

I am of the opinion that, the value it is loosing applies to small scale performance and tunning. No brainers and low hanging fruit are already automated by Cloud PaaS. Thins like creation of indexes, execution plan analysis, statistics gathering, orders of execution by selectivity and storage reorganization based on queries. They even recommend you action plans based on your queries (Azure, Oracle Cloud control 12, at least that I know of).

Overall, just don’t look for the RDBMS product or vendor on which you have worked for few years, if you have the concepts clear then you can work for any of the available products in RDBMS and NoSQL areas with some basic training and they are all equally exciting like DB2 or more exciting than DB2 as for most of them the amount of resources available to learn are really incredible.
