What are your strengths and weaknesses? While HR asking interview question?

Important thing is never completely give away your weakness. Mention such weaknesses that will not effect you being the eligible candidate and not a weakness that cannot be mended. Never mention emotional weaknesses, the company is not interested.

The answer to this question will keep changing according to the job profile of the company you are applying for.

The first thing to do is, take time out and think what are your strengths and weaknesses and write them down. Do not cram them for any interview at all, but it is important to write them down so it stays in your mind when you go for an interview.

Another important thing is never completely give away your weakness. Mention such weaknesses that will not effect you being the eligible candidate and not a weakness that cannot be mended. Never mention emotional weaknesses, the company is not interested! For eg : I get angry very easily. you can go for something like ‘when I start doing something I won't stop until I don't get good results’

Never say things like ‘when some work is given to me I can't trust anyone else with it I do all of it on my own’. You are out there and then because this shows you are not a good team player. Almost every company and every profile needs this.

Find strengths which reflect qualities like leadership, positive attitude, eagerness to learn, team player, readiness to try new things. Always have a situation, event or story in which your strengths came to use so that you can justify your answers.
