Can we be a successful HR without an MBA degree?

Well not completely. Yes, you can get a job in HR without MBA or PGDM, but the problem is you won’t be paid good and you will be treated like a slave. The reason is because most of big MNC hire people for HR roles only if the candidate holds an MBA.

Well not completely. Yes, you can get a job in HR without MBA or PGDM, but the problem is you won’t be paid good and you will be treated like a slave. The reason is because most of big MNC hire people for HR roles only if the candidate holds an MBA. So technically, if you don’t have MBA, you cannot land at large MNCs. They would not even consider you resume. So you would only land at small MNCs, startups, who obviously most of time do not know how to run business as per norms. You will have learning there a lot but no growth in terms of package.

In simple, I have seen employees without MBA but have very good communication and problem solving skills, who have 5+ yrs experience with good performance track are earning less than 3 LPA. But candidates who have an MBA any college but are very poor is communications and performance, an fresher will earn minimum 4 to 6 LPA. That is what is this this wonderful country.

Me being an HR with PGDM, to my experience, my PGDM was not even been useful 1% with my job because every company and every HR Role has different working methodologies, scenarios and situations to handle. If you join as a fresher for 4 or 6 LPA you will be given trainings in onboarding, exit, payroll, time management, BGVs, TA, people management, Taxations, Compliance and so on, which has got nothing to do with MBA or PGDM.. But still an a employee who is well experienced is all these above responsibilities but no MBA will earn less than 3 LPA.. There only a very few lucky people, who were able to earn more without PG in Management. They mostly land in jobs through references, etc.

Example - My former HR manager, who is just an graduate, but has 12+ yrs experience with great knowledge in all roles with good communication and problem solving skills is earning just 8 LPA in a small MNC but his friend (who is his old colleague), who has about 8+ yrs experience in HR, has very bad communication skills and even doesnt know how to draft a mail properly and calls my manager for help is working in Microsoft for 17 LPA, Only because he earned an MBA from tier-1 B school..!!
