I have done an MBA in HR and finance. I am now working in HDFC Bank as a management trainee but it’s a sales job and I don’t want to pursue further. Which career option can I go for?

HR and Finance. You need to make this choice. In both these, there are many sun options. Finance would encompass banking, wealth management, treasury, IB, VC PE roles, Corporate banking and so on. You will need to dig deeper and figure out your choice.

Difficult to answer without knowing you, your aspirations and skills! However, I see 2 roads ahead. HR and Finance. You need to make this choice. In both these, there are many sun options. Finance would encompass banking, wealth management, treasury, IB, VC PE roles, Corporate banking and so on. You will need to dig deeper and figure out your choice. Then you will need to prepare towards that. It’s likely that you will have to do some additional courses.

Having said this, I am happy that you are getting this opportunity of sales. This experience will stand you in good stead throughout your career. You are an MBA. Clients are or should be your strength. So immerse yourself in your current role. I am a bit biased as I have been a sales and marketing person for long. But I assure you- you will benefit a lot from your current role. Much more than you can envision currently. And who know ?? You may end up liking sales!!
