How do you answer the interview question, “Tell me a time you have to deal with the last minute change”? What exactly does “last minute” change mean?

I worked on a portal that included a video on demand site which had regular movies and adult movies and at one time a moderately well-known actress in Germany was “exposed” to have done porn before and within a week or so the movies that she was in became very popular because of the attention the actress was getting.

last minute change means changes in a program or site that were not planned in the regular planning or development process, usually because the requirements changed or the project planning missed something, also bugs discovered late in the development process can result in last minute changes.

Random example from my job, I worked on a portal that included a video on demand site which had regular movies and adult movies and at one time a moderately well-known actress in Germany was “exposed” to have done porn before and within a week or so the movies that she was in became very popular because of the attention the actress was getting. Our adult portal had one movie starring her, so the product lead boss decided that a teaser advertising the movie should be on the start page, but the planning of the new start page was usually done in a weekly interval and changing something on Friday was not an approved process but the boss guy seemingly called their boss and explained that they would be much more popular over the weekend if the movie was on the page, so we did that by first deploying the content as planned and then overwriting the HTML with a new version that a colleague had prepared on her computer using the test instance of the site. This had of course a realistic chance of breaking the site, but it worked out in the end and everybody got to go home on Friday on time
